Shoe Question!?

I can not get Chase to wear shoes! He screams and cries until i take them off! And now that he is walking everywhere he has to wear shoes. I would just put socks on him but he keeps putting holes in them. So then i bought those training shoes that are really flimsy to see if that would work and he still did not like that. So do i just let him wear socks and this shoes hating phase will pass or do I put shoes on him and let him scream and just make him deal with it? Any one know?!
