No it was not an April fools joke for all of you who kept asking, I had my baby! He could not wait to come out so he was four weeks early, he was a "late pre-term" baby but his weight was still good. He was 6 pounds 14 oz. and 18 in. long. The only thing we had to worry about was his lungs. He had a hard time breathing on his own so he had to go on oxygen, so they took him from me right away and finally five hours later I was able to see him and finally hold him. He looks exactly like Chase did but has some hair and it is brownish red. In the hospital we had some problems. First was his breathing, we had to really watch him after they took him off the oxygen, then it was his temperature we had to wrap him in two blankets at all times and he had to wear that funny hat they give you and he still had a low temp. so he spent some time under the warming lights, next was his jaundice. The nurses said said he was fine and his tests came back low, but now that we are home they are high so now we are doing photo therapy. And going back to the pediatrician everyday because he does not want to eat and his blood sugar levels are getting to low so we have to go get weighed everyday and blood taken everyday for our jaundice. But on the bright side things seem to be looking up. We are starting to gain a little bit of weight and our billirubin tests are getting lower every day. Chase loves him! He always wants to be holding him or laying next to him seeing if he has teeth yet. It is way cute. I was really worried about how Chase was going to react with this new "thing" at home but he loves having him. Every morning when i get back from the doctors with Ethan, Chase runs over to the baby car seat and says "HI!" and he makes me get him out so he can see him. Right now we are managing. All Ethan wants to do is sleep, he never wakes up I maybe see his eyes 15 min out of the whole day so it is easy to play with Chase and still give him all the attention but as soon as Ethan comes more alert to the world I know things might be a little tougher. But until then we are happy and every thing is going well! I am only going to put up a few pics right now so I can have time to take a nap while Chase is.
