It has been THREE and a half years since Curtis and I have gone on any type of vacation with zero kids. And it was about that time we go some where. So we have been planning this trip for 5 months and I could not wait for it. So me, Curtis, and his parents went to New York and then over Washington D.C. I was the only one who had never been so it was pretty exciting. First we spent some days in New York then went down to D.C.
This is the view outside out hotel...this is Time Square. I have decided that I dont ever want to live here. Too many people and the honking and sirens all night would drive me nuts. But definitly a cool place to visit. I learned I had to walk fast and to ignore peoples rude remarks...and if you know me I get my feelings hurt easily so this was hard.
This is us outside of this beautiful Cathedral...It was huge inside.
The amazing building...
Us hanging out in the hotel
Again at the cathedral...the doors were so cool every picture was different in every little square.
Yankees game
The Lion King Play was great
The Statue of Liberty
Curtis and I with New York in the background
Us and her
Paul and Carol and Liberty
Here we are on the top of the Empire State Building
Curtis on top looking down
The Guggenheim Museum
Walking around Central Park...Polish pride here...this is for my Dad. Walking around Central Park there are people every where, randomly taking naps and people touching other people very inappropriately like they are the only people around...It was gross...But a beautiful park
We went and saw Spider Man as well...way good!!! I loved this play! I would love to see it again. It was way cool. I got yelled at in the Lion King for taking a picture so I knew better here not to take this picture but I did anyway...and got yelled out. I recommend this play!
Curtis's brother is doing this trip across country with his friend Ben. They got grey hound bus pass for a month and are doing this thing called couch surfing (you should check out their blog pretty cool stuff escapethedoldrums.tumblr.com ) any who they met up with us in new york on our last day so it was cool to see them
On our way to Washington D.C. we stopped through new jersey to see curtis's mission. We went to a couple of his favorite areas. This salvation army was a place they volunteered at so of course we went in there and did some shopping.
And of course the Waters all had to get their taste of their favorite place White Castle. I personally find that place to be gross but they love it.
Here we are in Pennsylvania
The Liberty Bell
If you ever watch Man vs. Food you will know about these places...They are two food joints that are located directly across the street from each other and both claim to have originated the cheese steak...so we got one from each and tried them both...I liked Pat's better Curtis liked Geno's.
We hung out in Baltimore for a layover on our way to New York...and I decided I loved it there and would move there. Maryland is beautiful!!!
Washington D.C. temple doors...way cool!
This temple was gorgeous .
We went to a couple of Smithsonian's but it was so crowded (being memorial day weekend) and it was so hard to read and enjoy what you were looking at so I did not get to much out of it. But I really like this statue of George Washington and how they depicted him as a god.
If you know me you know I love the Wizard of Oz...so this was cool
Me and the white house...bunch of psycho people doing and saying a bunch of psycho things...i feel for the security guards that have to hang out with nut bags day in and day out.
White house at night...weird they let you get all the way up to the back gate there but you are like a mile away from the front gate.
Curtis's favorite memorial
My favorite memorial
Arlington Cemetery was my
favorite thing in Washington D.C. it was such a neat thing to be at. We watched the changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers that was way neat. Definitely a somber place but it sure makes you proud
JFK's grave along with some family, and the fire that never goes out...
The best part of my whole trip was coming home to my crazy boys though. They were so glad to have us back...they difenitly enjoyed their "vacation" at grandma and grandpa's but when we picked them up that night and brought them home then woke them up to show them we were there and at home chaser starting crying. He was so happy. And told us we could never go away for that long again...8 days was a long trip even for me. But we had a lot of fun!
